DUTIES OF THE STATISTICAL OFFICE IN KRAKÓW
Statistical Office in Kraków belongs to public statistic services subordinated to the Central Statistical Office and acting on the base of:
- law dated 29th June 1995 on public statistic (Journal of Laws No. 88, item. 439 with later amendments),
- instruction No. 5 of the President of the CSO dated 21st March 2012 on detailed scale of duties and organization of SO in Kraków (Official Gazette of CSO No 15 - 27.03.2012),
- law dated 21th November 2008 on civil service (Journal of Laws No. 227, item 1505),
- Organization Statute of Office introduced by Director of the SO in Kraków dated 16th August 2010.
According to above documents main duties of the SO in Kraków include:
- collection, preservation and elaboration of data for statistical surveys conducted according to programme of public statistics,
- organization and conducting statistical surveys, including national censuses,
- conducting of analyses and generalisation of aggregate data ond final information from statistical surveys,
- making the results of surveys available and disseminating them,
- promotion of knowledge on statistics,
- administering country official registers:
REGON - units of the national economy,
TERYT - territorial division,
in the part concerning Małopolskie Voivodship,
- completing the following tasks for public statistics as a whole:
the preparation of methodological rules, conducting surveys, carrying out statistical studies and analyses with an emphasis on the statistics concerning culture, health, welfare, social economics, public services as well as surveys concerning emigration and the Polish community in exile, conducting research in a scope of using administrative data sources for public statistics, participating in international cooperation in a field of statistics of euroregions, particularly in organizing mutual statistical
researches as well as working out and publishing publications about "Tatry" euroregion,participating in researches of the Statistical Office in Poznań in order of developing big cities statistics.
