Summary:
In the year of the 95th anniversary of the Central Statistical Office, and the commemoration of the International Year of Statistics, I am presenting you with the twentieth
issue of the Statistical Yearbook of Kraków. The publication contains a wide set of statistical data characterising both living standards of inhabitants and the state of economy of the city. The elaboration is published cyclically, every two years.
Thematic layout and presentation of data refer to previous editions of the Yearbook. The publication consists of review tables presenting basic information on Kraków in the years 2005-2012 as well as comparison to voivodship and selected cities being the seat of voivode in 2012. The second part of the publication includes thematic chapters containing many important areas beginning from widely understood demographical issues to selected elements of technical and social infrastructure. Every chapter is preceded with notes containing explanations regarding terminology, methodology and scope of information.
During work on particular chapters the results of surveys of public statistics as well as outside statistics were used.
This edition of the Yearbook covers the results of Population and Housing Census conducted in 2011 with respect to population by de facto marital status, educational level and main source of maintenance.
