The Statistical Office in Kraków presents you the elaboration entitled “Tourism in Małopolskie voivodship in 2015”. It is the fourteenth edition of the title in the present administrative division.
The main goal of the publication is to provide major data on tourism in Małopolskie voivodship, collected by public statistics. Prevailing part of the publication consists of tables elaborated on the basis of the CSO survey conducted on KT-1 forms, presenting state, structure and occupancy of tourist accommodation establishments in 2015. These data have been run by voivodship, subregions and powiats.
Basic information about accommodation establishments have been also presented by gminas.
The basic subject matter is supplemented by information coming from:
− the CSO statistical surveys concerning sports facilities (KFT-OB/a and KFT-OB/b),
− departmental surveys of following organizations: PTTK (the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society),
GOPR (the Volunteer Mountain Rescue Service) and TOPR (the Volunteer Tatra-Mountain Rescue Service),
− non-statistical sources provided by different institutions.
The elaboration is published within the series “Statistical information and elaborations” — it consists of methodological notes, descriptive part and tabular part. Methodological notes include sources of data, methods of surveys as well as major definitions. The descriptive part characterises state, structure, distribution and occupancy of tourist accommodation establishments. Some aspects related to sports tourism have been also presented. The tabular part begins with a review table containing the most important data on tourist accommodation establishments in the years 2010, 2014 and 2015.
Apart from numeric tables describing tourist boarding facilities of Małopolskie voivodship, the tabular part contains also data on:
− the activity of PTTK, GOPR, TOPR,
− rafting on Dunajec and Poprad rivers,
− tourism in national parks.
