In the year of the centenary of Statistics Poland, we are presenting you the nineteenth edition of the Statistical Yearbook of Małopolskie Voivodship.

The thematic layout has remained unchanged in relation to the last year’s edition. The current edition of the Yearbook has been enriched with the following information:

• in the chapter “Household budgets” data on the subjective assessment of the financial situation of households were presented,
• in the chapter “Education” supplements were introduced regarding changes in the education system in force since the 2017/18 school year,
• in the chapter “Science and technology. Information society” for the first time information about the research active entities by main units was presented.

The information contained in the Yearbook, in particular in review tables with data for the period 2000–2017, allows to conduct analyses and retrospective comparisons, as well as to capture the basic trends and directions of the socio-economic development of Małopolskie voivodship.
