The Statistical Office in Kraków is pleased to present the 15th edition of the Statistical Yearbook of Małopolskie Voivodship. The publication contains a comprehensive set of information characterising the living standards of society and the state of the voivodship’s economy.
   Detailed statistical data have been grouped in two review tables and 23 thematic chapters, preceded by general notes explaining terminology, methodology and scope of information. Presented statistical information, enabling analyses and retrospective comparisons, has been enriched mainly with charts.
   The thematic layout has remained unchanged in relation to the last year’s edition. However, due to the process of standardization of publications produced by statistical offices in each voivodship, the following minor changes have been implemented in the current edition of the Yearbook:
> in the chapter “Population” the population projection for years 2015-2050 has been added,
> regional accounts data for years 2010-2012 are presented according to a new European System of National and Regional Accounts “ESA 2010”,
> data concerning privatisation of state-owned enterprises are no longer published; data from this scope were published in the last year’s edition.
   In order to obtain statistical data in spatial profile we recommend to our readers also the study “Małopolskie Voivodship 2014 – Subregions, Powiats, Gminas”. This publication constitutes a supplement to the Yearbook.
